Being a senior has been so relieving and yet so stressful at the same time. Real life is coming fast. Sometimes I’m really excited for that, but other times I’m terrified. In the times when I’m terrified, I have to keep reminding myself of who God is and who I am in light of Him. As a child of God, I’m not promised an easy road by any means. I’m actually guaranteed suffering, and honestly, that scares me. However, through that suffering, I am promised life and love and joy and peace that are beyond any human understanding. Even though I may not know exactly where I’m going, I know exactly Who is with me. So, wherever I end up, I am comforted by a Father who will be with me every step of the way.
Romans 8:28-39 never fails to encourage me, and I hope it encourages other seniors as well. “And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose… For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angles nor demons, neither the present nor future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
